Thanks to all who turned up last evening to discuss reactions to Alan Moore’s 13 questions and learn from him how they came to be, and the impact they have had on other people.
Between now and the end of August, I will document the steps I am taking to “leave the nest” as a continued exercise in journalling my thoughts, conversations and ideas in pursuit of my own answers to the questions.
Some thoughts as I start, from FS.Blog. on what lies before me.
Writing gives poor thinking nowhere to hide. When your invisible thoughts are made visible, you are forced to confront them as they are, not as you wish them to be. You can’t simply take a few minutes here and there, get the gist of the problem, and expect to have clear thinking and unique insights. Good thinking, like good writing, demands patience.
