The whole point of moving away from something is to be able to see it differently and reframe our relationship with it. This is very early days for me in doing that, and it’s difficult not to be drawn back by the habits I’ve developed in the ways I think and write. But that’s the point. I came across this quotation in Paul Kingsnorth’s excellent Abbey of Misrule:
'Ideas create idols. Only wonder leads to knowing.'

I find ideas very insistent and persistent, things and one of the challenges is not just to react to them but rather collect them, gather them together and keep them healthy until there are enough of them such that they have to justify the attention they demand.
