We have been brought up and rewarded for getting things right, for having the data to support our projections and the evidence to demonstrate why our idea will work.

That's fine for the day to day innovation that fits inside existing business models and cultures, but not for the challenges we face today when so much is up in the air that the most dangerous thing we can do is to be safe.

“The outlaw, the revolutionary, the cabbalist or member of a secret society, indeed heretics of all kinds are of a highly associative if not sociable disposition, and a certain element of play is prominent in all their doings.”

Johan Huizinga, Homo Ludens: A Study of the Play Element in Culture

Ideas need somewhere safe to play before we burden them with expectations. That's what we do here. A place to bring ideas before they're ready. To play with other artisans who see the things that we don't so that, between us, we kindle the radical, the ridiculously improbable and unexpectedly transformational and give the opportunity to turn from fleeting sparks into flames.

Here are some of the ideas we're playing with right now

What do Artisans look like today, and what is their role as society changes around us?
What does scale look like in a networked world?

Come and join in as we play with and challenge rules and conventions that really need questioning.
