By coincidence I am reading a series by the prolific Andrew Wareham where the details and impact of enclosure is central. He writes 12 - 15 books a year! Very well researched and for me addictive https://andrewwarehamauthor.com/books/

Did you see the link to Richard Martin’s piece on enclosure- great piece. The themes I touched on in the post all seem to have legs. Maybe we can exercise them :-)

Sums it up. Trying to work out why the establishment are so "against" AI. It frees learners from the enclosures of "Education" and it threatens the idea of Copyright, the enclosure of the written word - once I see the concept of Enclosure, it's everywhere - as you have said, the whole subscription/leasing movement ties people in and reduces their autonomy
