I find making quiet space important, preferably in the outdoors, on a regular, scheduled basis. That way, a part of me knows it’s available

I also journal for 15 mins every morning- just writing down what’s on my mind to get it out of my head and down on paper (google “morning Pages” Julia Donaldson)

I also read(a lot!) :-). Getting other people’s perspectives always give me new angles (avoid the “how to” stuff- they don’t know either, except for themselves)

And music (& poetry) also important.

In the end, it’s about letting our originality come out to play.....

I’m going to put a reading list up shortly- have not done so for a while....

Go well.

So, how do you keep the muse alive and the artisan working?

I don't know how to answer that, except to explain how it works for me.

I need music or something in the background that can be used to shut down my working brain and let my artistic brain wake up. Most employers won't allow that, but I'm lucky enough to be allowed to do that.
